Color stainless steel decorative plate commonly used several polishing methods

decorative plate

For a long time, color stainless steel decorative plate through mechanical polishing, electrolytic polishing, chemical polishing and other traditional polishing methods, in order to get bright and no wear mark mirror effect.All three methods have their own advantages and disadvantages.

1, mechanical polishing

Mechanical polishing is carried out on a special polishing machine.A polishing machine is mainly composed of an electric motor and one or two polishing discs driven by it.A polished cloth of different materials used on a polishing disc.Rough throw often USES canvas or coarse cloth, fine throw often USES flannelette, fine cloth or silk, when polishing, drip continuously on polishing CD polishing fluid, or besmear on polishing CD with the cream shape polish agent that makes by very fine diamond powder.When polishing, the grinding surface of the sample should be evenly and evenly pressed on the rotating polishing disc.Pressure should not be too large, and along the edge of the disk to the center of continuous radial reciprocating movement.A bright mirror surface is obtained by eliminating wear marks by the relative grinding and rolling action between a very fine polishing powder (liquid) and the grinding surface.

Characteristics of mechanical polishing: low cost, simple operation, but low efficiency, uneven polishing surface, polishing time is difficult to master, suitable for small surface treatment.

2. Electrolytic polishing

Electropolishing is an electropolishing process that USES the principle that the anode dissolves first in a specific electrolyte with appropriate current density and microscopic convex points on the surface of the metal.

Advantages of electrolytic polishing:

(1) the internal and external color and luster is consistent, lasting, hard materials, soft materials and thin wall, complex shape, small parts and products can be processed with mechanical polishing;

(2) short polishing time, and can be more than one polishing, high production efficiency, low cost.

(3) increase the corrosion resistance of the workpiece surface.

(4) the polished surface will not produce metamorphic layer, no additional stress, and can remove or reduce the original stress layer.

Disadvantages of electrolytic polishing: it is mainly manifested in complex pre-polishing treatment, poor universality of electrolyte, short service life, strong corrosion and difficult to handle, etc., and the application scope of electrolytic polishing is limited to a certain extent.

3. Chemical polishing

The essence of chemical polishing is similar to that of electrolytic polishing, which is also a surface dissolving process. The selective dissolving effect of chemical reagents on uneven areas on the surface of samples is a method to eliminate wear marks, erosion and leveling.

Advantages of chemical polishing: chemical polishing equipment is simple, can handle the shape of more complex parts.

Disadvantages of chemical polishing: the quality of chemical polishing is inferior to that of electropolishing;The adjustment and regeneration of the solution used in chemical polishing are difficult and limited in application.In the process of chemical polishing, nitric acid gives off a lot of yellow and brown harmful gas, which causes serious environmental pollution.
